INTERVIEW BASICS - Learn how to market your skills and feel more confident in your next interview. In this workshop we will review difficult questions & sharpen your interviewing skills. Come on in for an informative, useful question and answer workshop.
CAREER DIRECTIONS
– For all members, from those who intend to continue with their prior careers to
those who have no idea what they want to do next. You will examine
the life and work values that must be taken into account when going through the
career decision making process. You will also identify skills that you
have used in past jobs and learn how to describe them effectively on a resume
and in an interview
Assertive Communication -
This workshop is
designed to help participants understand the differences between assertive,
passive and aggressive behaviors and teaches assertive communication techniques
to use in the job search and other situations.
COPING WITH JOB LOSS
– This workshop is designed to provide information on the emotional side of job
loss and job search. Learn the emotional stages people often experience when
they lose their job and how to deal with them. Discover techniques for building
motivation and self-confidence. SCORE (SBA) SEMINAR
– U. S. Small Business Administration will help you gain a better understanding
of the various SBA programs and services that are available to prospective or
current entrepreneurs who need assistance in starting or expanding their

JOBS SEARCH WORKSHOP – Improve your chances of landing
a steady well paying and challenging Federal position by preparing the right
resume format, applying correctly and targeting the correct job title and grade!
Learn the ins and outs of navigating the Federal job system.
OVERCOMING AGE BARRIERS IN THE
JOB HUNT- Provide participants with a greater
understanding of potential age-related biases, both internal and external and to
provide specific strategies to aid participants in developing a successful job
search.
Coping with Job Loss and the
Job Search -
This workshop is designed to help dislocated workers to understand and identify
the typical emotions that occur during one’s job loss and job search, and to
provide participants with tools and strategies for managing their period of
unemployment.
Building Confidence for Jobs First Day:
The workshop provides participants with
strategies for
presenting oneself with confidence at job fairs and other aspects of the job
search.
Positive Thinking for Success:
This workshop teaches participants to
identify and change negative thinking patterns. Participants are given tools to
assist them in building and maintaining a positive attitude, self confidence and

cover letter are crucial for anyone looking for work, since it is often your
initial contact with a company. Recruiters take an average of only 45
seconds to review a resume. Come to this workshop to learn how to write

Introduction to PC’S
Learn the basics of Windows 2000 and working with desktop objects and windows.
Course includes navigating to information stored on the computer, using Windows
Explorer to manage files and folders, customizing the Windows 2000 desktop to
best suit your needs, and managing and administering the workstation by using
the Microsoft Management Console, the Control Panel, and the NTFS used in
Windows 2000.
INTERNET JOB SEARCH I- This workshop
will provide the customer with some ‘state of the art’ job search tools.
The workshop will familiarize the customer with various job search websites and
enable him/her to create a large amount of employment opportunity activity in a
short period of time. It also provides them with their own E-mail
account/address, and the set up of a ‘Job Search Agent Alert’.
INTRODUCTION TO EXCEL – Using Microsoft
Excel, students will learn to create and edit worksheets, learn formulas,
functions, range commands, and file management. This is a must skill
for all job seekers to add to their resumes. Limited to 8 participants.
INTRODUCTION TO WORD for RESUMES – Using Microsoft Word,
students will acquaint the new user with creating Word for Windows documents.
Upon completion of the workshop, the student will be able to create, edit, save
and print documents. In addition, the student will also learn how to cut
and paste text, format text, and use the spell checker, and the thesaurus.
Limited to 8 participants
INTRODUCTION TO POWERPOINT - Using
Microsoft PowerPoint, students will learn the basic skills necessary to begin
effectively creating, designing and modifying presentations. They will
successfully run a slideshow, become familiar with slideshow options, and add
notes to a slide. Limited to 8 participants Excel
Level2
: Students will gain the skills needed to work with multiple worksheets,
create outline and use charts. Students will learn to use the database features
of Excel by manipulating an excel lists, adding and deleting records and
performing sorts and filters.
PowerPoint Level2 Topics include animation and special effects, tables,
multi-media (movies, sound), timing, hyperlinks, tips for effective
presentation, use of color, limiting bullets, and font choices. Bring files of
slideshow presentations for which you are responsible. This course covers many of the
features that can make everyday tasks quicker and easier. The student will
learn to create and edit tables, to insert headers and footers, create styles
and templates, and generate a table of contents. Students will also learn
how to use the Mail Merge Wizard to merge a document and recipients to create
both letters and mailing labels. To Schedule a Workshop, Please call
